White Horse Busienss Park

Alford Technologies, which develops tools to support explosive ordnance disposal, has acquired Shaw House on the White Horse Business Park in Trowbridge.

Shaw House is an 8,459 sq ft pavilion-styled office building with accommodation arranged over two floors and parking for 60 cars.

The company will occupy the entirety of the renamed Alford House. It plans to move its operations from Bumpers Farm Industrial Estate, Chippenham, in early July on completion of remodelling and renovation work.

Roland Alford, managing director at Alford Technologies, said: "We are delighted to have been able to acquire Alford House as our new headquarters. The building offers huge scope for expansion and future development and by moving only a few miles further from the M4, we have been able to take advantage of the favourable prices to secure a far higher quality, and larger property than we would otherwise have been able."

Colin Scragg, partner at Carter Jonas Oxford, which acted for Alford Technologies, added: "Recent rental increases in the South West region have been influenced by the lack of new office developments delivered this year. This has resulted in occupiers taking space outside city centres or seeking the acquisition of offices as a viable alternative option.

"Alford Technologies' decision to acquire Shaw House demonstrates its success in the region to date and its ongoing commitment to remaining in the area."

White Horse Business Park was developed in the 1980s and is now homes to organisations including The National Trust, Nutricia Ltd, XIS Industries and Hitachi Capital.
